I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that this is some of the best food I've tasted in New York City. It's a very unassuming- only one cook and one server. The chilaquiles are so full of flavor. My mouth is literally watering now remembering that dish! Highly recommend
Taqueria Acatlan feels like a homey place. There isn't a lot of seating but good for part of 2-4. The portions are big so it's worth it even if it's on the expensive side. But still pocket-friendly in a way. We mostly get tacos when we go there and they don't disappoint. Perfect food before or after a night out with friends. They aren't shy with their ingredients and the food tastes authentic!
In a neighborhood that is a desert for some GREAT, authentic Mexican food, Acatlan is a welcome oasis and go-to! Don't let the 3 stars fool you, Acatlan is a certified 20. My go-to are the carnitas and al pastor tacos, but their carne asada, chicken, steak, AND tostadas are also to die for. Wish I had some appetizing photos of the food, but I can't go more than a minute before inhaling these tacos LOOOL
